Drug peddler arrested in Kulgam: Police | KNO

Srinagar, Mar 15 (KNO): In a persistent effort to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police on Saturday said to have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession. A Police party of police post Mirbazar during patrolling at Furrah near railway bridge intercepted one person carrying a bag and roaming in suspicious condition. After checking, 2.1 kgs of Grinded Charas powder like substance filled in the said bag was recovered from possession, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He has been identified as Shahid Manzoor son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie resident of Furrah. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Accordingly, a case under FIR number 36/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation is going on. Police affirms its steadfast commitment of eliminating drug peddling in the district with the full might of law—(KNO)
